Comic #174

1 Erwin: Kolonel Haken!
1 Haken: Erwin! Don't just stand there! Untie me!
2 Erwin: {unwrapping Haken with haste} Jawohl! What happened, Herr Kolonel?
2 Haken: Ach, Herr Doktor Jones and his father...
3 Erwin: Der Führer vill not be happy about this.
3 Haken: Ja, ja, tell me about it.
4 Haken: Ever since his brain was put into that pickling jar, he's been a sour Kraut.

2012-05-19 Rerun commentary: Ah, there goes Erwin, reverting to the normal font. Phew.

This strip is unusual in using the correct German article in "Der Führer" rather than the humorously incorrect "Die Führer" that became standard later in the comic. "Der" is used for a masculine noun, while "Die" is for a feminine noun, and certainly inappropriate for the noun "Führer".
