Comic #2241

1 Mercutio: You need to write something that captures people's hopes and dreams. Something that moves them to a deeper level of feeling and reality!
2 Mercutio: Create a world we want to live in, somewhere so captivating and powerful that it grabs us and doesn't let us go!
3 Mercutio: A world we can feel, and breathe, and live in! You're Will Shakespeare! I know you can do it!
4 [typing]: The exchange student, Will, looked up in awe at his first sight of the hallowed halls of Hogwarts.
4 Mercutio: There you go!

Well where would you rather live? In a Shakespearean tragedy, or here?

2022-01-11 Rerun commentary: Many of the early, not-so-great Harry Potter fan-fics were based on the idea of an exchange student from some other magical school going to Hogwarts.

Imagine if an exchange student from a normal school somehow ended up at Hogwarts by accident. This could be the basis of a comedy movie, as they desperately try to hide the fact that they're a muggle, and use more and more elaborate ruses to try to appear to be a witch/wizard. Now I'm imagining something along the lines of the movie She's the Man[1], only with Viola pretending to be a witch instead of her twin brother.

[1] For those of you who haven't seen this film, it's a modern twist on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, along the same lines as 10 Things I Hate About You's retelling of The Taming of the Shrew.
