Comic #2464

1 Nigerian Finance Minister: All right, let's see. A... B... C... D...
1 Nigerian Finance Bureaucrat:
2 Nigerian Finance Minister: I'll pick D, buying stocks and bonds. Although responding to unsolicited e-mails is also a pretty good way to make money, I must say.
3 Host: Correct for $500!
4 Nigerian Finance Minister: Aren't you supposed to be stretching to build suspense?
4 Host: I think your answers are entertaining enough as it is.

That's the really annoying thing about Who Wants to be a Millionaire? - the vast amount of stretching and time wasting and "tension building" that the host goes through to prevent giving away vast sums of cash on every episode. If you condensed a typical show down to about 4 or 5 minutes, it might be vastly more watchable.

Actually, that may apply to a lot of TV shows.

2023-07-18 Rerun commentary: *cough*
