Comic #5286

1 Prof. Jones: So where in San Francisco does Miss Thoroughgood live?
1 Monty: Pacific Heights.
2 Prof. Jones: Ooh. Fancy.
3 Emily: Is that a good neighbourhood?
4 Prof. Jones: Oh yes. It’s like Russian Hill, with less rushin’.
4 Minnesota Jones: Or Nob Hill without the nobs.

The background is another photo I took in San Francisco. It looks a bit like evening in the comic background, but it was actually taken in the middle of the afternoon:

Vertigo

This was actually taken in Pacific Heights, looking north on Fillmore Street at the intersection with Broadway, down towards the Marina District.

Pacific Heights is one of the wealthiest and poshest neighbourhoods in San Francisco. Russian Hill is another wealthy neighbourhood, but usually listed below Pacific Heights. Nob Hill has been historically the wealthiest neighbourhood in San Francisco, although some quick searching indicates that may not be the case any more.

They're all interesting and fun to walk around.

If you like walking up and down hills.
