Okay, I know it's Star Wars, but really now, pod racing...

It's like Formula 1 car racing. With jet engines. With obstructions on the track. With vehicles that are held together by string. With people shooting at you.

Just how stupidly insane a sport is that anyway? How does anyone survive more than 2 races?

In other news, this strip marks the third anniversary of Irregular Webcomic! Just in case anyone's counting.

2015-03-31 Rerun commentary: Shaenon Garrity (Narbonic, Skin Horse, etc) retweeted a tweet from Noelle Stevenson (Nimona) today (as I type this):

making money from webcomics is easy-peasy you just gotta work for free for 2-10 years

— Noelle Stevenson (@Gingerhazing) March 23, 2015

Two to ten years, hey? I guess my money should have started rolling in a few years ago. ;-)

But no, seriously, webcomics are hard work for little or, more often than not, no (monetary) reward. The Randall Munroes and Ryan Norths and Shaenon Garritys? Those people are the glorious exceptions.

The non-monetary reward? Making something, and touching people's lives.
